The exhibition, promoted by the Istituto Italiano di Cultura Zagabria, with the patronage of the Ambasciata d’Italia a Zagabria, is dedicated to the excellence of the Italian style, unanimously admired throughout the world, and to its roots in centuries of refinement of conception and techniques in every field of sumptuary arts, at the service of the courts and in function of commerce
The exhibition, specially designed for the spaces and in dialogue with the collections of the National Museum of Zara, presents around a hundred artworks from Palazzo Madama, an expression of workshops and factories from all over Italy from the late Middle Ages to the eighteenth century, to extensively testify to its mastery and genius. In particular, Murano glass, Venetian enamelled branches, Renaissance bronze statuettes from the Veneto area, Lombard-produced chiselled iron, central Italian majolica, Doccia, Vezzi, Cozzi and Naples porcelains, fabrics and laces are documented. the cabinet making, the wood and ivory micro-carving, the decorated bindings.
